In our hearts forever ...

We will miss you, Bhabhi! 💔

You lived, you fought and gave hope to everyone around you. Your hope kept the hope alive in all of us. You are epitome of positiveness and such a dedicated & wonderful mother.

One thing that you told me when I was struggling in life (Nothing compared to yours. She was fighting the biggest battle of 'Cancer')
"Never have I thought of last option; there will always be plenty options in our life. Never lose hope."

These words are etched in my heart forever. You instilled the hope then and I will always follow it.

Hope it is pain-free & peaceful up there!
We all love you; forever in our hearts 💗💗

Bestie-in-Law

Some relationships are more than what they seem to be.
 Wait! Wait!

I am not talking about ‘Bestie’; something new - ‘Bestie-in-Law’!

Did i just coined a new term? Google it out guys.

‘Bestie-in-law’ forcefully comes into your lives; steals the love of your life and make them theirs; and slowly comes into your life and becomes your friend ...
Do value his virtue of tolerance of surviving your bestie year after year; In keeping your bestie’s insanity in check; Being selfless by handling bestie’s tantrums so that you just get the love.

What do you think guys - Are you lucky in love ? That’s old and boring. Something silly & crazy - Are you luckier in ‘Bestie in Law’? I AM!

Until I met you, my Bestie in law, I had never realised your importance in my life or rather thought of you as an impediment in my life.

I apologise!
I apologise!
I apologise for being a dum-dum!  😁

This post is dedicated to him.

Cheers!

Yours,
Bestie-in-Law (it works both ways)

Happy Friendship Day!

I don't believe in fairytales, but I believe in You & Me! "
Naah! It's not a love story; it's bout a 'pure love story' - Friendship story

According to an Irish proverb -  A good friend is like a four-leaf clover; hard to find and lucky to have. Absolutely , everyone would agree with me!

They say,
You're not best friends if you didn't hate each other when you first met.

That's how our story started!

Disclaimer : All the characters and events depicted in this story are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

"Best App project" was an annual fiesta in our college.  She was smart, intelligent girl always exceeding in her academics. When it comes to her friends, she was a gem - the best friend anyone wished for. And how can I forget about her love - Coding, she was an obvious contestant for this popular event.
Well, about me - I was an average , aah! okay, above average & hard-working ; had a few friends as it takes time to break the ice.  I decided to take part in this event but I didn't have a partner nor the idea. One our common friend told me that she was looking for a partner in this project but warned me.

Wait! What! A warning!!!
My previous participation in events and winning a few had made her think that I am competing with her. COMPETITION!!! Hell! There is no competition between us.  I wanted to talk to her and sort things out but she ignored me like always. Wait! She ignored me previously and I didn't even know about this.

Sounds too filmy, well! Let's continue.

I asked our common friend about talking about it with her and clear things out on my behalf. What I hear next!

** Slap **  A mere mention of my name. This was pretty serious.

I chose to ignore and move on. Planned to withdraw my name from this event since I didn't have a "Project Idea" nor a partner and obvious choice of a partner for her would be our common friend and obviously not me!

Days passed by, we were busy with our normal routines separately.

One day, our common friend and I were going out for a lunch, when she asked me for help. I offered to help her as much as possible. She was talking about their project and something they were stuck on. We discussed about the problem and its possible solution. We were going back to our college I warned her about disclosing who helped them with their problem. She thanked me for reminding and we burst out laughing remembering "The mighty slap" episode.

They submitted their project. Unfortunately, they could not win but were highly appreciated for their idea. I went and congratulated them for their effort. To my surprise, she responded with a 'Thank you'.

It was that day and today she is my bridesmaid walking besides me in the altar. Telling me that she knew about my significant help in her college project and now she really appreciates it. Wait! She didn't tell me about this in all those years of our friendship and I used to think that it was volte-face about me.

What happened in between is a pure love story - FRIENDSHIP.

You took my hand and showed me the way,
when I was blinded by unfortunate fate.
You took my hand and prayed with me,
while my troubles quickly faded away.
You took my hand and dried my tears,
when I cried over it all.
You took my hand and helped me understand,
when I questioned our almighty one.
You took my hand and made me promise,
I’d never walk alone again.
You took my hand and mended my friendship,
when I was too stubborn to say anything.
You took my hand and made me laugh,
when we remembered our funny mistakes.
You took my hand and made me see,
that God has a special plan for me.
Now take my hand and never let go,
because our friendship means more than you’ll ever know!!

Once in a while right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale.
It does exist!

Cheers!
Suvina ;)

P.S : This is not my story as I don't believe in "BEST FRIEND" kind of a concept!

That's me!

Life 'Cycle' !

Girl : Papa, may I ask you for something?
Father : Yes, Darling, go on!
Girl : I need your time.
Father (shocked but spoke in a sweet tone) : You have all my time, darling.

Father was confused with daughter's serious & deep thought. Each and every day since her birth, the time he spent with his daughter flashed before his eyes. Thinking ... if he has done something wrong and has not given the time and attention his daughter needed.

Father (Contd. speaking) :  ... You don't have to ask for my time. My time is completely yours. Tell me what are we going to do?

Girl (overjoyed) : Yay! You are the best Papa in the world.

Father smiled profusely seeing his daughter jumping with happiness. What! He thought if just assuring my daughter gives her so much happiness, I am sure giving her my time would make her the happiest kid around!

Girl (contd. speaking) : Papa, when I go to the park in the evening, all my friends are riding bicycles. They ride so fast that I am unable to catch them. I know Papa, this is because I don't know how to ride a bike and my bicycle has supporters installed which stops me from riding smoothly. Will you help me quickly learn how to ride bicycle fast?

Father thought for a while before answering the question.

Father : First of all, my child, you should learn how to ride safe and not fast.  I will help you learn how to ride a bicycle but in our own sweet time so that you enjoy while learning.

He thought that he never cared about how would her daughter learn to cycle. It dawned on him that getting her a bicycle with training wheels wasn't of much help it was only protecting her. Oh wait, how will she learn to ride bicycles if those supporters are there for her always. He understood that if she wouldn't have asked for it, he wouldn't have realized it.

Girl (all excited) : Awesome. Let's get started! Woohoo ...

Father : Darling, let's see if we have everything before we get started with the riding part.

Girl ( a little curious) :  ... and what's that Papa?

Father : We don't want to injure ourselves, do we?

Girl : No way, Papa!

Father : So, let's see if we have the bicycle protective gear with us i.e. Helmet , knee pad and glove set. And above all, the will to learn and to not give up.

Girl : Yes, I have everything. As you taught earlier, safety comes above everything. What are we waiting for, let's go Papa.

Father : Wear your safety gear. Here's to happy learning & riding!

In the meantime, Father removes the installed training wheels. This time, he will be her training wheels. The daughter stood there witnessing the rebirth of a man as an affectionate & understanding father. However to her discomfiture, she saw that father had taken the wheels off.

Upon reaching the park,

Father : Get on your bike.

Stunned after listening to what her father said. 'Get on your bike' without training wheels.

Girl : But! Papa ... You have removed the training wheels. How will I even get on the bike!

Father : Listen to me carefully.

and he continues to teach her little girl about riding a bicycle, about the balance & the fall.
She fell and got back, that's what continued till she smoothly sailed ....

At night, she went back to bed and penned this down -

I don't know how to ride a bicycle

So you grabbed the bike and showed me how

But I didn't quite understand how you did it

So you let me ride it while holding the bike

I pedaled slowly at first, then gradually faster

Until the breeze hit my face and I smiled

At last, I thought, I learned how to ride it

Then I looked behind and saw the view

You're not holding it anymore, you're faraway from me

I'm far from you, and you waved goodbye

So, I turned towards north and pedaled some more

At last, I thought, I learned how to ride the bicycle.

I didn't know how to ride a bicycle

But you taught me how, so I turned towards north, and pedaled some more.

Good Night!

'Loyalty' before Royalty

Loyalty! One simple word; Do we have a single definition for it; I guess not!

For someone loyalty is honesty , faithfulness to commitments and obligations; for me loyalty is no matter you are right or wrong but i will tell you when you are wrong and help you get it right.

For those who see world in black & white; loyalty isn’t GREY! Oh lets say today I am loyal to you but tomorrow I don’t find a point being loyal to you; what do you think am I actually loyal or am I just making of fool of you and self. Or is it supporting the right - what’s right is right no matter what my loyalty says! Let's play it safe and say - Its just a game of perception.

How do I tell someone that I am loyal!

Bang on! Show them your loyalty by actions and not words.

“Words help you express your feelings but feelings can only be felt by actions.” - Unknown

The everyday Tale!

A couple happily celebrated their silver anniversary. Just like another day, they were back home from work! Pretty tired and exhausted, they were lying low. There was Complete silence in the room when the lady of the house gasped! Husband asked his wife if she was okay! She always wanted to ask that one question... but never found the right time! Now the time is right... its been 25years since they have known each other. That question always crossed her mind but she never found the courage to question his man. Should she be even asking this question , she thought. Is the question worth their relation. All this while, husband was bewildered; something was terribly wrong - he had never felt like that before   ; waiting for her wife to speak and put an end to this suspense.
Indecisive and nervous wife decided to speak up, speak up for herself, their relationship , their 25 years of life together.
Confused like never before, wife started giving shape to her vague thoughts. Despite her angst she mustered the courage to speak up.
All this while I have always been questioned about my very existence directly or indirectly.
Husband looked at his wife aghast. Ready to cut her in between but stops! Wife continues to speak but this time assertively.
In our society, where they have hard time treating females and males equally. Girls are seen as liabilities in our country; Where girls are treated as burden and are traded for cash in dowry; Where home and all household chores are responsibilities of a lady; Where men are treated with utmost respect but girls are treated as slave; where men live with all the comfort and the lady works for his man's comfort throughout her life. Without a pause, the wife continues speaking about the woes that a girl faces in our society. Suddenly, scared at the thought of future  that lay ahead of their family, she stopped  and started crying. Without uttering a word, husband tries to soothe his wife. Shaken by the words, husband tried to connect the dots. Unable to do so, he asks his wife if she ever had  been through this.
She could barely utter her words as tears streamed down her face, she nodded when words failed to come out!
Husband couldn't believe his eyes.Losing his cool, annoyed with his wife, started shouting as to how could she say that when all his life he had been liberal in his deeds. He had always considered his partner equal in every aspect and never disrespected his wife. How dare she even dreamt about this thought.
Husband Sighed in disbelief and left the room.
Displeased at the sight where she again has to let go her feelings and dignity, she rushed to be with her husband to pacify his anger. She wanted to speak more but kept quiet as she never wanted to demean her man. Also, the thought -'I'm a girl' that never left her mind, this time too, forced her to abandon her feelings and like always LET GO!
